Well, over half of his posts have been in the past week. Not sure why it's necessary to announce you're leaving, there's no rule you're only allowed to be on one forum (is there a card to hand back? I didn't get one...). I'd say people here often write longer, more considered, posts than elsewhere. Lower frequency, more content.

I know I said it years ago...but there should be some sort of Grand Meeting somewhere...like a Woodstock On The Gold Coast...where GN folk can actually, physically, have a vacation! It could be done dead cheap, too...once the airfares are out of the way.
