I totally agree with that cos all his songs are like vocal lessons all the time when you sing michael jackson songs
you're learning so much things about your vocal
for example I started to sing with michael jackson's liberian girl my first song that I try to sing
in that moment I realized that I can sing
try to sing this song if you can sing then you have a potential thats only my opinion
by the way I studied opera at the uni!!and I'm singing over 5-6 years

IMHO, It's not good to try and copy someone else's voice.
it's best to find your own.
if your natural voice is in the range of someones, then there isn't a problem, but i would pick someone who is more in my vocal range or style.

rite way to learn singing is imitating your idol and after find your own voice and its fact thats my opinion.
