For those British fans who are interested, there's a four-part series begins tomorrow (Tuesday) night on Radio 2 at 9.30 BST....BB King at 80.....

Here's what it says in the TV magazine....

"Legendary bluesman BB King has influenced everyone from Clapton to U2's The Edge, and they're just two of the contributors in this four-art profile presented by fellow blues guitarist Robert Cray. It includes a new interview with King himself, who turns (sic) 80 0n 16 September, and it documents his life, which began on a plantation in Mississippi. He started busking for dimes from an early age and turned to the blues after hearing T-Bone Walker play Stormy Monday."

I'm guessing it's a weekly series...couldn't find any more listings for it this week....I'll post more when I find out....

:D :D :D

OK, here's a link for non-UK listeners....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/radio2.shtm l"> http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/mainframe.shtml?http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/radio2.shtml

Like I said, it's 9.30 pm our time ....so should be sometime in the afternoon in the USA....it's confusing, because over here at the moment, it's BST, which is an hour ahead of GMT....you'll have to work out the times for yourselves, wherever you are....but if you're in, say, Texas, it should be 3.30 pm tuesday afternoon....Texas time....

Anyway, you can listen on-line, probably get time-checks....you should be able to work it out from those....

UPDATE....

Got next week's TV magazine delivered with the paper this AM....part two is next week, same day, same time...Tuesday, 9.30 pm, BST....

I had a conversation with Twisted Fingers last night, he lives in Illinois, and when we swapped times, he worked out it'd be on at 3.30 pm, Tuesday afternoon, his time.....

Anyway, here's the write-up for part two....

"THE BEALE STREET BLUES BOY" :

Robert Cray continues his portrait of legendary blues performer Riley King.

Enjoy....
