yes, im playing at a local jam session a week on thursday!

me and my guitar teacher will be playing Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol - me on lead, he will do rhythm.

Im bricking it.

We had a quick jam tonight at the end of my lesson, and he said I was good enough to do it on stage!

I have LOTS to learn LOL need to rehearse it like mad!!!

Oh, and my chord sequence of Gmaj, Em, Am and Dmaj - He said that basically, i struggle on changing Am to Dmaj and Dmaj to Gmaj (which I knew) but that everything else is very good, as even though I struggle, I keep the rhythm going.

Scared? Yes.

Happy? HELL YES!

Teacher knows best! Get out there and enjoy it, Mike. It'll be over in a flash and you'll be wishing you could do it all over again. Best of luck Mike!

That's great. :D Too many people fold as soon as they make a mistake. Your ability to keep going is a very good sign.

Have a great time at the jam. My guesses are that a) You'll enjoy yourself a lot and the fear will fall away after the first few seconds, and b) That you'll discover that you don't actually have to be perfect to contribute. Relax, don't worry in advance about mistakes you haven't made, and if you do produce any 'unscheduled sonic surprises' they vanish in a nano second anyway.

Cheers,

Chris

Be sure to let us know how it goes!

Don't even dare to think of backing out. Otherwise we GN'ers will collectively push back in.

Good Luck !

yes. go for it.
it will be over in a flash, as Vic says. also, play through any mistakes , mis[laced finger, fret buzz, etc. all the things that can make you uncomfortable...no one will notice.
they will see a guy up thee playing his heart out.
have fun.
