biker jim and Doug,

I will make an effort to tab Highway Song this week. Sorry about the wait.

I do not know if I play it exactly like the recording. Dom our bass player has several different recordings of this song and they are all a little different. I have never tried to exactly duplicate the song, but I think I play it very close to the recording. I am almost 100% sure I am playing the correct chords. But I may not be picking them exactly like the recording. It will get you very close.

That's all I want really, a version that is playable. Though there's no chance I'll be doing it for a while

Sorry, meant to mention I'm just grateful for anything you find time to do.

I looked at several tabs today for this song, and you are right, they are all different and none of them use the chords I use.

I will tell you the chords I use right now.

Em Cmaj7 Dsus4-6 Dsus4 B7

e--0----0----------------------2p--
b--0----0------0--------3p-----0---
g--0----0------0--------0------2r--
d--2r---2m-----4m-------0------1i--
a--2m---3r-----5r-------X------2m--
e--0--------------------2m---------

Now, I don't have my guitar handy, but the picking is something like this:

Em Cmaj7 Dsus4-6

e---------0-------------------------------------------
b-------0-----0---0-----------------0-------------0---
g-----0---------0---------------0--------------0------ X 2
d----------------------------2--------------4---------
a-------------------------3--------------5------------
e--0--------------------------------------------------

Cmaj7 Dsus4

e----------------------------------------------------
b-----------0-----------------------3----------------
g--------0-----0-----0-----------0-----0-------------
d-----2-----------2-----------0----------------------
a--3-------------------------------------------------
e--------------------------2-------------------------

Dsus4 Em B7

e-------------------0-------------2------------------
b----------------0----0-----------0------------------
g-------------0-------------------2------------------
d---------------------------------1------------------
a---------------------------0--1--2------------------
e--2--1---0------------------------------------------

Now, as I said, I don't have my guitar handy, and I really don't think about this pattern, but this should get you very close.

Now, you play this riff through the verses. On the chorus you play Am, D, Em.

On the solo at the end you play Em, C, D, Em, Em, C, Bm, Em over and over.

Let me know how this sounds, I'll have my guitar handy next time and correct any mistakes.
