Lets start by choosing lyrics. I have a couple of decent ones I wouldn't mind putting out there. Someone else can do the same, then we can decide, through some fassion, what to use.

Then we do the same with trying to establish melody for lyrics, melody for backing, intro, bridges, solos, etc...

But first lets pick some lyrics. Here is my set:

Deluge
-----------
The furnace sends winds hurling forth
And a stonewall of acid rain
Crushing black descends from the north
Turning strength of will to powder

A force beyond me, this black squall
Leaving me down and capsized
Ice cold solid that will not thaw
Exploding forth with a vengence

Savage winds they ravage my soul
Icy fingers with piercing stingers boring holes
An encaged mass of rage and confusion racing out of control
A deluge in a hellhole

Possessed of demons I can't exorcize
Just blow winds blow
The debris of my life raised to pulverize
A storm that will not pass

In the downpour I dehydrate
Antimatter percolates
Fellings I cannot sedate
I'm scattered, ready to detonate

Savage winds they ravage my soul
Icy fingers with piercing stingers boring holes
An encaged mass of rage and confusion racing out of control
A deluge in a hellhole

Posessed of demons I can't exorcize masked and disguised
Just blow winds blow why don't you
The debris of my life raised to pulverize It's all fucking lies
A storm that shall not pass until you are through

What is left of me cannot survive Don't you yet realize
What little is left will not survive That you where never alive
There is nothing left to survive All that is left is for you to die

War Party
--------------
Break out those heavy tunes
Shove another round in the tube
All reved up and ready to go
Come watch my rocket red glow

Falling cards a bonus score
Let the bodies hit the floor
Draw a bead and take your turn
Just let the mother fuckers burn

Sanitized for youth anesthitized I hear your jingo jangle call
Barbaric pride is the force that drives our war party thrall

Bangin our heads to metal
Partyin down with Azazel
Bullets fly forth in a hail
Spilling blood, brains, and entrails

Sanitized for youth anesthitized I hear your jingo jangle call
Barbaric pride is the force that drives our war party thrall

Or maybe we can start by comming up with lyrics in a collaborative fassion as well, in that case, here are some tidbits I have kept around because they seem to have promise:

Love breeds contept
Hate brings immortality
Blind rage has consumed us all

The numbers do not lie
The inhumane is very human
Yet we pretend to walk tall

--------------------------------

Where you go I cannot follow
My mind is spent and my heart is hollow
The person I thought I was is dead
It was all just a lie in my head.

--------------------------------

Everything I thought was true, was a lie
Everything I thought I knew, was fantacy
Everything I did to live, was suicide
Every breath I now take is undeserved.

--------------------------------

I poor my heart into a tiny cup
Condenced as I am I remain
Until the time I wish to explode
And blast it all to hell

--------------------------------

Keep running to nowhere

--------------------------------

No, I am not really that unhappy - at least I don't think so... I just never find words for happy thoughts.

I am not opposed to edits if they need to occure.

sick dude. Lets do it. Those are all good lyrics. I write lyrics too, but they are a bit to violent to post here (my friend and I are starting a gore metal band and I have been commissioned to write most of the lyrics.). Get audicity. That way it will be easier for us to trade aup. files without having to encode them to mp3 and such.

So to start off, what are your influences? For metal (which is what I assume will be the general style we will be writing in judging by ur lyrics) I am influenced by many bands including, but not limited to:

Dream Theater
Vader
Morbid Angel
Arsis
Mortician
Hate Eternal
Symphony X
Black Label Society
Deranged
Mastodon
Nile
In Flames
At the Gates
Between the Buried and Me
Napalm Death
Shadows Fall
Carcass
Arch Enemy
Death
Fear Factory
Sepultura
Pantera
Lamb of God
Kreator
Slayer
HateBreed
Judas Priest
Iron Maiden
Led Zep( They are too metal!)
Dillenger Escape Plan
King Crimson
Iced Earth
Children of Bodom

Those are all the metal bands I can think of that I like right now. I have to warn you, I can't scream or sing very, so you will have to handle that. So let me know when you get audacity so I can start sending you stuff.

The meaning of life? I've never heard a simpler question! Music.

> In Flames

They are good...

> Death
Ok, used to be into them...

> Fear Factory
Hearing these guys on cronix, pretty good.

> Sepultura
Old stuff, Arize and earlier...

> Pantera
Not really...

> Lamb of God
Another cronix, like em...

> Slayer
Of course...

> HateBreed
Cronix -> yep

> Judas Priest
> Iron Maiden
Of course...

> Led Zep( They are too metal!)
Not really...kinda sick of em actually. I like some of their songs a lot.

Those are all the metal bands I can think of that I like right now.

Ever hear Soilwork? CroMags? Diamond Head? Blitzkreig?

I have to warn you, I can't scream or sing very, so you will have to handle that. So let me know when you get audacity so I can start sending you stuff.

Getting a melody for the lyrics is the hard part for me.. I can write lyrics, and I pay attention to meter and such, but it just never works for me when I try to sing them.

I am emerging Audacity right now. I already have Ardour...
