Hey Jason. I sent you a yousendit link about a week ago. I'm thinking you didn't get it?
Nope. Just now got your PM though and downloaded. Thanks!

Hey everyone, hate to bow out of my own collaboration, but some things have come up and I just don't think I'm going to have the time to work on this. Therefore, if someone would like my spot, please jump in. I've already got the parts I have mixed and ready to go, so I will happily mix the remaining two spots.
I apologize, but I didn't want this dragging on too long waiting on me.

Hey Crank,
I'll take that open slot at the end if there are no objections.

No Problem! Just PM me where to send the files and I'll have something for you soon.
Guys,
Sorry its taking me so long. Work is insane and I haven't had a minute since the New Year. My plan is to complete my part this weekend.
Steve
How's it lookin'? Just getting antsy. I wanna hear what everyone's done. :P
Just so everyone knows, my PC died last night while trying to install a firewire card.
I believe it is only the power supply and I will know for sure tonight. Hopefully it didn't take anything else with it when it went out.
I guess that's one bad thing about keeping PC's turned on 24/7. When they occasionally get turned off, they sometimes don't come back to life! :(

Good Luck
I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and everything turned out
alright so there is hope.
Anyways I uploaded my part to Putfile and here are the links.

Okay, I'm the laggard here. I wasn 't happy with what I laid down this weekend and now I'm out of town until early next week.
Man. You people are perfecting your takes. I kinda fudged mine. I mean I left all the slips and mistakes. Oh well.
....okay. Truth be told, I played and played and couldn't do it anymore so I took the best take. I wish this was as easy as some of you guys make it seem.
My take will be far, far from perfect! And it is not easy for me either - that's why it takes so me long. It sounds like my approach was similar to yours - just play and record, play and record, then look for something good. Unfortunately, I didn't really like any I played and just plain ran out of time this weekend.
Steve
I'm right there with you guys!
I will often have 12 or more takes before I find one that is OK. I'm not sure how your software works, but I use Ardour for Linux. I'll loop my section of the song and hit record. Each time the loop starts over again Ardour creates a new "track" layered over the other tracks. I can then audition each take and delete the ones I don't like (which is often all of them :)).
Of course that's just the 12 takes I record. I'll work on my part for days prior to even hitting the record button! Funny how 30 - 50 seconds of a song can take so long to get down! :)
Oh, and Steve, don't worry about the time. My PC is still down anyway. I put the new power supply in last night, but I broke off one of my SATA plugs from one of my hard drives in the process (hopefully nothing a little super glue can't fix).

Hey John, this is probably a stupid question, but how do I download your files from Putfile? I could play them but I didn't see a way to download.
