No backing tracks on this one. It will be 100% original. I'm looking for a few fellow GNers that would like to collaborate with me. Let me give you the background first.
Some time ago I was visiting my niece and nephew. On my brother's kitchen counter I notice a card that looked like one of those cards you find in a funeral home at a wake. On it was a picture of a very young girl and I thought "Oh, How sad". When I turned the card over I found a wonderful poem that she had written. It turns out that this little girl loved to write poems. She had a rare form of cancer and died at 11 years old. Her parents started a foundation in her name to research this form of cancer.
I thought it would be great to write a song based on the little girl's poem, sell it on site's like Soundclick and then donate all of the proceeds to the foundation. Following is the poem that was written on the back of the card. Hand in Hand
Take my hand and promise me to never let go
As long as I feel you there
I know I will be okay
With your hand in mine I know I can defeat the toughest foe
I will never again reach despair
Finger tip to finger tip I feel that your daring power now also flows through me
Thanks to you I know believe
I can become whatever I want to be
With you pushing me on
I can accomplish anything
Because of you I now see myself in a positive view
I see myself conquering mountains and calming winds
I see myself exploring the oceans as if I had fins
I'm beginning to slip
So make your grip a little tighter
With your hand in mine I know I can be a fighter
With your hand in mine my future always looks a little brighter
I'm planning on keeping the poem/lyrics as close as I can to the original but may have to tweak a bit. Even with slight changes, I am planning on crediting the little girl for all of the lyrics.

1- Guitar
1- Bass
1- Electronic Drums
1- Keyboard (to fill in for violins and such)
I do have some rhythm ideas and will gladly share with you what I have so far.

Hmmm....I have this ditty i've been working on for about a year, really just a chord progression. I will see if I still have a sound file of this when I get home. I'll send it to you. It's in a minor key.
Blue, I can handle the drums n' bass for you. Let me know what ideas you have and we'll get it rolling. Sounds like a worthy cause.

I was thinking that this would truly be a collaborative creative process. Since we won't have a backing track, it will be interesting to go through the process.
