Y'all should check these guys out! They are a African -American Appalachian string band. They learned their craft from fathers, uncles and grand fathers. They have a ton of stuff on you-tube.Check it out!

Awesome. Thanks for the links!
I am turning to traditional and acoustic music this summer. "Simple" instruments are even more attractive. (I said "simple" in terms of gear needed not if it is easy to play them.)
