I recorded two of the same finger style songs trying to figure out which one sounded a little better.
I think they both have their merits, but need to really decide on one to go with.
The song is Kids Run Through City Corner

Song is from Final Fantasy VI and is about 1:40 in length.
Just looking for some feedback on the different sounds.
Thanks!

Well played, either way. :) Did you arrange it yourself? It's very nice.
To me, listening through a $50 set of computer speakers, the Ibanez recording has more of an open, bright top end, while the other seems very warm and mellow. Can't say one is "better," they're just very different. I thought the acoustic's natural resonance came through, while the Hollowbody felt a bit dry - maybe add a touch of reverb to that one. Your playing on the flats was very smooth, the Ibanez recording had a few pronounced string squeaks.
Have you thought about using both and double-tracking your recording? You'd get the best of both worlds.
Hmmm..thats a hard one. I have to go with the Eddie Durham Hollow body . I'm a sucker for hollow body electric finger picking :note2: :note1: Nicely played 8)
Thanks guys. I've decided to go with the Hollow Body, and the only reason is that I can't get a clean recording with the Ibanez. Everytime my fingers move to lift up on a string or anything it sounds like there is an extra note, and I'm no sure how to fix it. With the hollow body I don't have any of that.
I just spend an hour and a half trying to record a 1.5 minute song, and got next to no results with the Ibanez that I was happy with because of all the noise.
Thanks for your input guys, I appreciate it!
