My girlfriend bought me an Ibanez RG120 :D for X-Mas and I need a practice amp (I'm new to guitars). I'm just looking for a decent practice amp and have narrowed it down to these from MF.

Roland Cube

Line 6 Spider III

Behringer V-tone

Thanks................... no, she doesn't have any sisiters

I'd go with the Cube out of those three. I haven't heard a lot of quality things 'bout the Line 6. And I think the Cube is better than the Behringer. At under a hundred it's a decent little starter amp.

Used to be, was a part of me felt like hiding.. but now it comes through. Comes through to you.

My mate has the Roland Cube and it's unbelievably good. Really nice tone and a good distortion and effects. I haven't tried any of the others to compare so there's not much else I can say :)

I'd ditch the line 6 as and option, and replace that choice with one of these if your looking for a modeling amp:

I only know what I have read, never having tried any of these amps, but the general concensus is that the Roland Cube is the best. If you could go extra though, the Epiphone Valve Junior is a tube amp that is awsome. No frills, no features. Just a volume knob but it sounds sweet.

Rocker, I'm a little confused. You said you agree with TRGuitar and go with the valve jr. He never mentions anything about that amp but I assume you mean this one.

Is it as versatile as the others I'm looking at or just better sounding? :?

Sorry bustin40 .. you guys caught me in the middle of edits. I do like the Valve Junior. I used to own one, own the head now. Awsome amp. You would want the combo unless you got a speaker cab laying around though. No, it is not versatile ... but it sounds awsome. You can run pedal into it to make it what you want. It has no EQ, no reverb .. just great tone.

I know it's not in the right price bracket, but that Vox looks shockingly good

yea, the nice thing about that vox is it has a dial on the back so you can dial it from 1 watt to 30 watts, I'm getting one as soon as income taxes come back :)
