Awhile back I was talking to a friend of mine who I thought, brought up an interesting point.
He plays in a local church band and is a much more gifted guitar player than I am. We were talking about being creative as musicians and what it takes to write your on songs.
For me it's always been very difficult to write something, it sounds good the first couple of times and then I think ahh well it's ok but it sounds to poppy or to sweet so I end up sacking it.
As were talking he mentions - well look at what we do (were both in IT) - every single day we work and only develop the left side of our brain which controls all your logical thinking patterns. Where as our creative side - being the right side of our brain gets neglected. When he said that I thought a light inside me got switched on.
So I found this online test to determine what I actually am – it goes through a series of questions

It ended up saying I'm 40% Left and 60% Right.
Which I would say is about accurate

I'm 20% left and 80% right, no wonder I have trouble understanding the technical side of music. I'm also 70% weird...........I couldn't resist taking that test.
