Black Crows opend for them too. Good show. Lot better than their studio stuff, IMHO.
Petty was great. Lots of good rock and roll. Lots of good guitar playing, but in a minimalist sort of way. They laid down the grooved all night long. Nothing spectacular, but it was very impressive to see 3 guitars, a bass, drums and keyboard just hit a groove and keep it moving so well. They nailed American Girl so well, and that's the type of song I see other bands mess up live.
