I don't know exactly where else on the board to put this, but does anybody here like to put in whistling lines when you're writing a song?
I can't whistle -.-
You sing in praise of suicide, we know you're useless, like cops at the scene of the crime.
The sky is a landfill.
i havent really whistled, but i have sung lines of words that dont even make sense. i find it better than 'lalada' to fill spaces. sometimes you actually come up with a good line by doing that! i had a whole song grow from one spontaneous line that didnt make sense at first....doesnt happen often though :(
I've never written a song, but I do whistle the harmonica breaks in some songs ie: The River by Springsteen.
Check out Billy Joel's " The Stranger" , cool whistling intro/outro
The only song that springs to mind with whistling in it for me is GnR Patience which is awesome.
scorpion - winds of change has a great whistle line over a guitar 'solo' intro, works really well
Dock of the Bay, Otis.

Nobody cares how much you know,
until they know how much you care.
"What you keep to yourself you lose, what you give away you keep forever." -Axel Munthe
I can't whistle, but I did play harmonica before I started the guitar. I gotta get back into that, it can really add some spice.
Andrew Bird is good. I personally prefer Jolie Holland's whistling to his, though.
It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who can't whistle! Never been able to ... doubt I ever will! All that ever comes out is air!
