I'm beginning to learn slide guitar, and could I have some tips please?

are you playing slide guitar with it flat in your lap?
or in the standard position..thn using a bottleneck slide?

also, have you decided on a tuning?

most slide players tune the guitar to an open tuning.
ie: open G for resonator...G B D G B D.

is a good site to read about tunings.
