I thought it was appropriate that I found out about this cool forum on a Sunday so here's something I've been working on called Self Appointed Savior. Any feedback would be appreciated.
They have insight and understanding
to the ways of evil men
They know the right direction
and decide it's up to them
to teach, to show, to force
thier will without remorse

in whatever God they claim

To me, it read "taliban" painted all over it. I think thats quite a delicate issue still but i like the way you present your opinions.
The first verse was very weak and because it was your starting verse, i would highly consider changing it. The second, third and fourth verses were however very well written in the sense of metaphorical language and content. The fourtt verse stood out to me as the one that provokes most thought about the subject.
Overall, very well written... but it contained the element of cliched selfish thinking that could also spell "I am right, you are wrong.."

Thanks for the input. The strange thing about it is I started it about 5 years ago and then forgot about it. I was sifting through some old writings and found it. When I origianlly wrote it I was actually refering to some of the religious people I know here in the US.
But it does apply to everyone including myself. I was hoping the message would be that hurting other people, whether it be physically, or emotionally over religious  beliefs is contradictory to the  beliefs that they claim to live by. I definalty need to work on it a bit more.

I was just loking back at some of the older stuff, and realized that this is really good. Anyone interested to writing music to this? it would be awesome to hear some deep metal rising from the ashes of the 80s

This is very good writing. By keeping it generic it can apply to any type of fanaticism, yet does not come across as anti-religious. That is a very difficult task, and one you performed remarkably well. To write a song that makes people look at their actions and coerce them into self incrimination, without overtly condemning them, is really hard to do.
