Okay, a different assignment of sort this week...
We want you to write, but NOT write a song. Carry a notebook or index cards or napkins in a restaurant or whatever and write down as many interesting thoughts, ideas, overheard conversations, anything that strikes you.
By the end of the week, take your list and give us your best fifteen lines.
Example (no lie): a friend of mine is trying to write a lyric and just today she was trying to find a space to park a huge rental van. So, appropos of nothing she said out of the blue, "Got to park that big monster," which we all felt would be a great song line. She grabbed a paper plate and a pen and now it's on its way to being a song to look for.
