Hello to all

And a happy Fourth of July holiday to those who happen to be celebrating it. There aren't all that many songs that specifically mention this particular date, but many that do, such as "I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy" by George M. Cohen, Springsteen's "Independence Day" (kinda), "Born on the Bayou" by John Fogerty (in passing), and Amie Mann's sublime "The Fourth of July'," are certainly worth a listen.

This week, you can write a song about the Fourth of July holiday. If that's too limiting, write about any "liberation" or "declaration of independence" or even a "unification" holiday (Canada Day, Cinco de Mayo, Tuvalu Day, etc.,). And if this still is too restrictive for you, write any song you'd like as long as somewhere in the lyric you mention a specific date ("Papa Was a Rolling Stone," which I guess could be a sort of "independence day," no?)

As always, I look forward to reading and to listening to whatever you come up with.

Peace
