The writer's block has really hit me lately! But I'll give this a try:
Song #1
32 Heartbreak Avenue is where the lonely people meet
But I've got better places to go
And I ain't gettin' stuck on that dead end street
Song #2
It's a nice place to visit
But I wouldn't want to love there
(that's a play on words of "It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.")
"And if you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there." -- George Harrison
32 Heartbreak Avenue is where the lonely people meet
But I've got better places to go
And I ain't gettin' stuck on that dead end street
I'll forget I ever met you
But I won't forget that you're a cheat
It's a nice place to visit
But I wouldn't want to love there
It's a cold and lonely place
No one seems to care
Your song #2, Gina, is great! I think there's a lot of possiblities in that altered cliche...
Did I try to love there and fail?
Do I have bad memories of that place?
Or am I warning someone else of a girl there that broke my heart?
How about this poor old town that if I fell in love there I'd have to stay there and I'd rather live somewhere else, thank you...
Anyway--very thought provoking!
