                   Highway 41 Blues

Gonna take my car and drive it
See just how well this baby runs
Gonna take my car and drive it
See just how well this baby runs
Gonn shake loose all my troubles
Head south down Highway 41

Coming out of Nashville
Gotta cover lots of ground
Coming out of Nashville
Gotta cover lots of ground
When I cross Monteagle Mountain
Then I'm Chattanooga bound

I cruise down Peacock Alley
I'm making real good time
I won't stop in Atlanta
Gotta make that Florida line
Wanna see those sandy beaches
Before I see the setting sun
Gonna shake loose all my troubles
At the end of Highway 41

Rolling into Tampa
Feel the ocean breezes blow
Rolling into Tampa
Feel the ocean breezes blow
Gonna take all of my troubles
Throw em in the Gulf of Mexico

That's it!   Thank you, thank you very much!

Greetings and Welcome, Leftygtr,

I really like this song.  In fact, I can't see anything I would change.  Just a tip though, where your post says "Peathingy", you can click the "modify" link at the top right corner of your submission, and insert a space or dot between the letters you actually typed, so the filter won't change it to thingy.  Weird.

Hi Lefty

Welcome to the SSG - glad you stopped by.

I have to say this is a great song and meets all the criteria for this week's assignment.  Good blues style writing and I read it with a travelling rhythm in my head (i know what I mean if no-one else does).

Not being native to the USA I thought Peathingy Alley was a real place and didn't realise it should've been Peac o c k alley.  That's the filters for you but we elected to retain them across all the boards as we do get  people visiting with their children and we don't wish to offend anyone.

Great song though

Bob :)
