Paul installed the first mod, which prevents signatures, IM or links of any kind until the poster has 10 posts.

Let's see how that works.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Spammers to real users was running 20-1

Nick,

What about those tools that show a user a set of scrambled and distorted letters and require that the letters be typed in a box to verify that a human being is registering and not a robot? Is anything like that available for forums?

we have that already and the spammers have cracked it. If we get the next mod in place it will allow us to create our own security questions.

I always thought that the scrambled letters thing was fairly foolproof, too. Evidently while the spammers are getting more sophisticated I am becoming more naive.
