I'm new - I'm looking for recommendations for a drum machine or software that I can use to practise to.

I went to an amateur night recently and the most noticeable thing amongst those on stage was their lack of timing.
There were some excellent players on stage but they were all playing as individuals - there was no 'band' no 'timing'.

I think if I had a drummer (machine) to practise with, it would help my playing so I don't fall into the same trap.

Pandora's box is a very good drum machine. However, the best resource for getting a good sense of time is a metronome. They're a lot cheaper than a drum machine and are a necessity in developing a good sense of time. A drum machine will help you considerably, too, just don't forget to get a metronome.

Hope this helps,

Brian O.

P.S. I think Pandora's box is made by Boss. I think it retails for about $290.
