hey guys, i just picked up an ibanez bass today from a friend and ive been playing it a bit through one of my cheapie 15 or so w fender amp BUT im using the external speaker ort and have a ported enclosed subwoofer connected. NOW my question in the ext spkr jack says 8ohm min. the sub i have connected it a 4ohm.. it sounds fine but i dont want to destroy the amp its nice for around the house.. can i just add a 4ohm resistor to the speaker or will i need to find a 8ohm speaker? I plan on gettin a bass amp its just gonna be a bit because im a guitar player first
Well, I suppose in a low power situation like that it won't matter too much. Don't turn it up, though, or you'll overheat the amp.
Get a cheap 8 ohm speaker :D
