Well I guess I should change mine soon ( it's been 1 1/2 years) anyone got any suggestions :?: I'm thinking about flat wounds, any thoughts :?: --the dog
BTW I have a cheap washburn bass XB 102, It gets the job done, I use it mainly for recording :D
I just put a set of Fender stainless flat wounds (.045-.095) on my bass :D It was definitely worth the extra $5-6 . :D :D
Well, I've been playing with them for a few hours now( I'm working out a part for a song I'm doing with Pbee) and I have to say that I really like the flat wounds a lot :D :D :D Much easier to play and get a more even sound with 8) --the dog
I ordered a set of short scale flat wounds for my new short scale Eastwood Rocket bass. The bass came with a messed up E string, unwound at the bridge and I think the A string is messed up too. It sounds messed up from the 9th fret towards the bridge. I will clean out the bridge before restringing, in case of any burrs.
It is a small world for metal fanatics. I welcome you fellow musicians, especially the metalheads!
Only you can decide when to change them. My brother had not changed his in maybe 7-10 years so I asked to borrow his bass just to change the strings. I did the same on the band's bass player's second bass. Yesterday I bought strings for his gigging bass that has had the same strings for over 5 years. Gonna change them in the next few weeks.
"Nothing...can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts."
But my old bass strings make such a nice "dark" tone.
