I am not really a "bass' Player but I do have one that was given to me. It is a Danelectro HODAD 4 string.
Googled and searched and learned some interesting things about it. Checked reveiws and so on. Does what I want it to do but wonder if there is more and also what is the overall opinion of this bass if any?
I would trust the coments more here instead of what I find elsewhere.

I've never played one, but since they're offered in lefty (or were), I wouldn't hesitate. I sorta like the Dano vibe. I just wish they'd make their double-neck 12/6 in a lefty though.
Also, don't they have a short-scale bass?
The bass player in our band showed up for practice last Sat. with a Hodad. It seemed to have a lot more depth to it than his wife's Squier he's been playing. That's about all I know! :D
