It's past due time for me to put new strings on my Peavey Fury IV. I would appreciate any opinion on the strings ya'll use. I would like a blues-rock sound. I don't slap or do any kind of funk. I just need to lay down some good solid grooves for Stoner-rock, sabbath type doom, and blues. I don't really care about cost, but don't want expensive strings either.
It is a small world for metal fanatics. I welcome you fellow musicians, especially the metalheads!
I just use D'ardio but I don't think it would hurt to experiment. Try some things out and see what you like best. Strings are pretty cheap and easy to replace (it's good to practice replacing strings anyway). If you hate the strings you get, a new pair isn't far away.
Try fender bass strings.
