Hey, I have some questions on some 5 string basses that I have been looking at for awhile. So which would you choose and why? If you know any other basses in the $400-$650 range tell me please. Here are those basses. Thanks for the help.

bassed (sic) totally on looks alone i say the Peavey hands down. (just my preference)

A friend of mine has an MTD though not that particular one.

I like the look of the Peavy too actually.

I suggest playing them if you can; the feel of the necks might differ and you might develop a preference for one over the other. This is apparent with 4-strings (e.g., compare a Geddy Lee Jazz bass vs. a standard Jazz vs. a P) so the differences should be even more pronounced on a 5.

Also I'd buy used; more bang for the buck.
