Please take a look at this bass tab for Who'll Stop The Rain (CCR) and let me know what does the "R" in the tab notation stand for?

Thanks in advance.

Experiment, maybe the guy hit the wrong key. I'd try 3s or 5s.

It has to mean Rest or Root. I doubt root though because they could have just put in the fret in which the root lies.

I don't think it means ring because it's at the start of a measure and I don't think it's release bend because there is no bending involved.

My guess is Rest.

That's my final answer.

Thanks, guys.... I think rest might be the winner. I thought my ear was deceiving me because I couldn't hear any bass during the first bar, but I couldn't figure out why he had "r's" tabbed there. I thought it might be some kind of fance bass muting technique that I didn't know about. I think rest makes sense. .... unless anyone else has a better final answer, I think Mike wins the million $$$$$$ !!

Thanks guys!
