Hammer-ons and pull-offs ad nauseam?
Maybe not.

Two words: STUDY THEORY!!!!!!! Sorry about the hand how'd you break it?

Don't let a little thing like a broken hand stop you playing.

Didn't Hendrix play something with his teeth one time?

Just glue a pick to the side of your plaster cast.

Failing that, do the fretting work with your left hand and get a friend to stand behind you, stick his arm under you armpit and do the strumming for you.

Hope it heals soon.

This is probably the one time your life that you'll have a genuine reason to buy an E-Bow!!!
Don't let the chance slip through your fingers - buy one NOW!

Either that or you could make do with 6 weeks of playing with a Little Fretty

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

Sorry about the hand. I hope the piano died

You can still practice fretting. You know, that old put them on take them off and put them back on again. In other words you can still practice fretting and chord changes. And I bet you can still slow single pick to check the accuracy of the fretting.

And yes, the one thing that is hard to study while playing - Theory

I agree with the others. I am fighting sever tendonititus in the shoulder and I have good day and bad. The alternative is surgury and no left arm for 8 weeks  .

As others have said pratice fretting, working on cord progressions and even scales. Next ask the doc if you can get enough removed to use a pick or a thumb pick and play :)

Best of luck and a speedy recovery!!

6 weeks with a little fretty......... shutter

hey Hilch

well let your thumb on the strumming hand grow really long then just pick the strings with it ( if you can move the thumb of course )

yes Theory , Theory , Theory don't be put off by it embrace it , it will make you a better player in the long run .

Think of your chord changes you can really improve on them with out having to strum start with the basics then move to the dreaded F / B chords . Hammer ons pull offs slides . Getting your fingers where they should be rather then where they might be , concintrate on the small things for 6 weeks rather then trying to play a song .

READ READ READ Theory , Theory . come in here ask $hit loads of questions , but keep the the dream alive old mate keep it alive.

Cheers

if you have an electric, turn up the gain on your amp real high, and just solo with your left hand. it'll be noisy, but it'll work. i had hand surgery on my strumming hand a few years ago, and my thumb stuck out of my cast, so i strummed with that, but mostly just fretted with my left hand
