When i'm playing a lead is there an easy way to tell what note to play in bass for harmony. I think this is call ?slash chords or pedal point?

Maybe this should be titled 'harmony' instead of bass line?

Let me take a stab at this.
If your lead part is built around a chord the bass should be part of that chord starting with the Root, then maybe a 3rd or 5th even.

If your lead part is built around a chord the bass should be part of that chord starting with the Root, then maybe a 3rd or 5th even.most of the time i just pick notes from the chosen scale till i get something that sounds ok. i never noticed if it was part of a chord.
