Boogie as in Boogie Woogie, like in that piano style from the 30s?

How to start a Boogie in E...

In a shuffle rhythm (i.e triplets on each of 4 beats per measure, but only playing the 1st and 3rd... the downstrokes, not the upstroke).

e-
b-
g-
d-
a--2-2--4-4--2-2--4-4--
E--0-0--0-0--0-0--0-0--

That's the basic boogie rhythm.
Then, do the I-IV-V progression in a 12-bar blues pattern. From E to A to B, in this example.

Check out David's Blues lessons, starting with Before You Accuse Me. He explains it a lot better than me.
