I'm nowhere near Chicago. I've got six string, 8 fingers, two thumbs, it's dark 'cos I'm wearing sunglasses - Hit it!
Yes, it's a barre. Easiest way is probably xx3111

Great, thanks. I'll probably be able to do that one. I have a G7 in the song as well, but I'm just staying on G... :P

You can do a "cheater's" G7 - xx0001 - That's the one I use to teach beginners a version of Pink Floyd's Brain Damage...
Peace

I was surprised to see that Roger Waters also uses that G7 on Brain Damage.

Hi DH
Thanks for the 'cheater' G7 also. I'm very tempted to use it (which I probably will a couple of times when nobody's looking) but I've got to get those pesky barre's sorted. I actually have had some good success with the G and G7 sounded pretty much like - well, G and G7 so I think I'm making headway...
As far as the easiest way to play Fm - it's a four string bar as opposed to a...? 6 string bar? I can actually play the four string bar nicely but it's the transitions that need refining...
Hey Fretsource - what a fabulous video of Roger playing Brain Damage (did notice a few barre's in that as well) but if DH has tabbed that in the 'easy' song section then I'm going to give it a go...
Thanks for all your help..
Rock on!

Not my work, but Mattguitar posted a great transcription in the ESD back in 2005, which you can find here:

Have fun playing it!
And if you're looking for other cheater / easier barre chords to get you started, check out the lesson on Nowhere Man on the Easy Songs for Beginners" page ( https://www.guitarnoise.com/article.php?id=442 )
Peace
David, nice fingering. I played a song at rehersal this past Saturday and was using barre chords. I like that fingering much better!

Hey, here's a real hoot - I actually like playing the A7 barring the four strings and using my ring finger for the E - is there a problem doing it that way? I actually like practicing my barre's?

That's a fine way to play A7! You can also use your pink to play the 5th fret on the E string to alternate between A and A7 if you like, as a riff or a shuffle pattern.
