The F chord is a mother to get but keep trying eventually it will happen.

Bry,
Yeah, its a toughy. Most players have a hard time with it. Keep working at it and it will come.

If your speaking about the mini-barr F. Try rolling your fingers a little toward the nut, it will help you press down the B & E strings.

Bry,
Yeah, I'm also a beginner and am having a hard time with the F chord.
What makes it specially hard for me is that I have a little nerve damage in my forefinger that doesn't let me feel the strings very well.
So I end up pressing down with all my might and this obviously gets my finger and hand tired quicker.
I'm sure it'll come with a lot of practice.

It took me quite a while just to be able to play the mini bar F cleanly and change to and from in a fairly quick time.
It is now pretty easy but the full bar F is still quite a struggle. I can play it ok but getting into position takes way too long.
So the answer to your question is YES the F is a hard chord to master.
Wait till you start messing around with some of the B chords
