Sometimes when I look at a chord or a scale, it will have red dots in a few places instead of black. I can't seem to figure out what this means, can anyone help me?

Chances are that they are the root notes of the chord.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

I have a "Guitar Case Chord Book" and it uses this convention (ie. red = root). :)
