I pick up an ole beater acoustic today (a 2nd hand Martinez) just for taking out the yard during summer and when I went and brought some new strings I picked up some different thickness picks..
.46 .71 .96 and wow what a difference in sound!
I used to use .96 all the time but I really like the feel and sound of the .46 one.
I was really surprised....

I know a little bit about a lot of things, but not a lot about anything...
Looking for people to jam with in Sydney Oz.......

Hey, Blake...

The thicker the string...the thicker the pick...or so it seems to me.

Sydney? Used to live in Cremorne...now I'm up near Nimbin.

I think thinner picks are easier to play with because their impact on the strings are lower so you don't have to hold the strings on the fret board down as hard. Strange that picks are measured in millimeters when everything else about the guitar is measured in imperial units.
