I'm new to playing guitar and have a price range of about $300-400 for the guitar and $200-300 for the amp. I'm mostly interested in playing Guns N' Roses and Black Sabbath type music. My nearest neighbor is a 3rd of a mile away so the loudness isn't a problem with the amp. Just looking for whats the best bang for my buck.. Thanks.

That should really allow you to rip it up. Distrortion should be more then enough, but if it isn't, get a extra pedal for a few bucks.
Hey Arjen thanks for helping me look in the right direction! I've got a little more money to play with and was thinking about getting a Gibson SG Special you or anybody else have any opinion on it? Thanks for all the help.
