An example to back up your argument would be helpful - I'd like to see a harmony implied by a single line that is not an arpeggio.

Implied harmony can exist in a single line - I said so earlier. A classic example would be Bach's cello suites or violin partitas. But if you look at the scores, you see a) non-harmonic tones (typically neighbor tones) inserted into b) an arpeggio. Without an arpeggio, or without a second line, we don't hear harmony.
