hammer on

hi

i`ve been trying to practise hammer on`s and pull off`s
and wondered just how you manage to get the little finger
to hammer on with enough power to make the note loud.
any help would be most welcome.

Strengthen your pinkie by repetition or change fingerings so you can use a stronger one. As far as I know, there's no easy way around it.

yup, that's about it.

I struggled like mad with this for ages. Its a case of strength (comes with practice) and accuracy (comes with practice).

Yeah totally agree with you there Nick.

Its about speed more than power.

If your pinky just plonks down half heartedly, you won't achieve what you are looking for, its got to have Nick's snap.
