Welcome to the musical madhouse.
Don't hesitate to look at used acoustics when you shop. They're often significantly cheaper and you can get one for around $200, I'd think. That's what I paid for my acoustic and it's a much better guitar than I'd have gotten paying $200 new.

Yeah I suggest going the used route too. I was going to buy a starter pack when I stumbled on a used Martin DXM for $275. It's a much better guitar then I would have gotten in the pack and i only paid a little more.
wow thats an awfully good price for a Martin! I'm satrting out with a Fender DG-5.

I just picked up yet another pawn shop special. Paid $35.99 and got a slightly used acoustic and they threw in a set of strings because it needed them. Now granted, I can't find a name or model number anywhere on this guitar, but it plays and sounds great. For 35 bucks, who cares who made it, right?
Check pawn shops. This is the third guitar I've gotten this year for under $40.
One was a Washburn WR 150. Just had to fix some intonation problems.
One was a Silvertone strat copy. Had to refinish and restore some hardware. And now this acoustic. Not a thing wrong with this one.
What a bargain!
Is that a nylon strung guitar?
