Help with first (sorta) guitar

Hi, I'm 14 and I had a guitar somewhere around second grade, but I didn't get lessons so I didn't learn. I traded the guitar. Now I want to get a new guitar and take lessons for my birthday. I like rock/hard rock/metal (lately I've really liked Mushroomhead and Disturbed). What would be a good guitar for me(Ilive right by a Guitar Center)? I really like the B.C. Rich Metal Master Pack http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/buy_b.c._rich_metal_master_pack?full_sku=101515328 , but I'm open to suggestions. Also, what is a good pedal to go with it for the kinda music I want to play? Thanks.
