how are these chord changes(examples taken from david's lessons) played? I mean, when two chords appear immediately one after the other, is the first chord just strummed once before changing straight into the following chord? e.g.:
Hotel California - Eagles
Bm F#
…There she stood in the doorway I heard the mission bells
A E

Teach Your Children - Nash
D G
You who are on the road
D A
Must have a code that you can live by

take you david for the excellent lessons, I really enjoy them. Hope you can answer my query as I don't have access to these songs right now!

I think the example you are looking at just shows you the chords that match that line of the song. If you look at a tab for Hotel California it looks more like this:

Bm F#
There she stood in the doorway; I heard the mission bell
A E
And I was thinking to myself this could be heaven or this could be hell
G D
Then she lit up a candle, and she showed me the way
Em F#
There were voices down the corridor, I thought I heard them say

The tab shows you on which words the chord changes now you just have to listen to the song and figure out the tempo and the strumming pattern.

GuitarNoise is gospel :!:

Just that the song was not the actual lesson so the focus would not have been on the timing of the chord changes.
