I am actually genuinely curious to know because I have played acoustic guitar for a while, but would like to move onto the electric guitar. I am unsure what price is reasonable for a first electric guitar... :?

I just bought mine three weeks ago for $195 cdn. It was brand new.

I wouldn't know a reasonable price, but make sure you consider your budget for an amp.

It is just as important as your guitar selection.

Good luck!

My first was on sale, about 50% off (of course they are all typically discounted , I think) and ran around $250. That's just the guitar -- amp, case, cables aren't figured in.

The very first two were gifts. The first one I payed for was $25.00. I've made up for it by spending a small fortune on them, not including the equipment.

My first bass, a Yamaha RBX-260, was a Valentine's Day gift from my wife (love ya, honey!), purchased from MARS (before their demise) for $149, IIRC.

My second, a Rickenbacker 4003 (see headstock photo below) was a gift from myself, purchased for just under $1000.

If I do the math correctly, my *next* bass will be in the neighborhood of just under $7000. Gee, makes that all-Koa Carvin LB70P I've got my sights on seem like an absolute BARGAIN at $1000ish...

Wow nick, howd you get a 69' Gibson SG for 100 bucks?

The first time I heard a Beatles song was "Let It Be." Some little kid was singing along with it: "Let it pee, let it pee" and pretending he was taking a leak. Hey, that's what happened, OK?-some guy
