How to add an Avatar picture ?

You need a web host to put the picture onto - there are quite a few free ones around - I use a German site ( http://www.freenet.de ).
Once you have it loaded, you'll need to reference it in your profile, with the full file name - e.g.

I have my picture gallery at Yahoo Photos, but the avatar function didn´t accept the link to that adress

Can you post the URL as you entered it into your profile?

Not a hijack attempt but there was also a site posted awhile ago that did pic resizing. I would also like to update my profile with a personal pic. Can't seem to find it and thought I had bookmarked it. Anyone?

I'm pretty sure that Yahoo doesn't allow hotlinking. Then I suggest you upload it to http://imageshack.us then hotlink to the forums. Also Imageshack does picture resizing, but I'm not sure if that was the site you were looking for.

That goes for me too Evolution. Thanx. No the avatar is not Manitoba in the winter but last winter camping on the beach in the Boohoo ,sorry I meant Baja. I broke down there a little bit because I can't get there this winter. Oh well more time to stay inside and PRACTICE!!!!

I keep posting it, and it keeps getting lost in the shuffle...but I have an image hosting service set up specifically for things like this:

No ads, no bandwidth restrictions, and a pretty liberal file size limit if you want to host guitar pics or anything.

It's pretty self-explanatory. :)

Once your upload is complete, it will automatically show you the exact URL to use to link the image.

If you uploaded something already and missed it, the full path will be:

http://www.hooverae.com/upload/pics/(your filename)
