Hey guys! I just joined this forum because it looks informative and a good place to be.

Anyway, on to the problem. I just bought a new acoustic electric, not even an hour ago. I just got home and was tuning it up and realized that one of the tuning pegs was broken. :( It will turn but the string won't tune. It's like it is warped or something. Anyone have any advice? Will I be able to bring it back to guitar center and have them fix it for me?

If they don't do it for free, what would the repair cost, and how difficult/major of a thing is it?

Thanks for your help.

They will replace the guitar for free. Great return policy.

BTW welcome to the nut house.

You should have no issue returning the guitar. I would get it back to them asap though. Good luck and welcome.

First, like everyone else already said: take it back. It's new and you should expect it not to be broken.

If, however, you happen to break one in the distant future, it's one of the easiest repairs to make.
As long as you know which end of a screwdriver to hold.

Welcome indeed. Yeah, if it's new back it goes. They need to make it good.
