Hi
Can anyone tell me if there are any samples available to follow regarding the Keeping Time article found here:-
https://www.guitarnoise.com/lesson/keeping-time/
This is a great article.........
I have looked for sample strumming patterns from simple to more involved, but it doesn't seem to be a topic that is provided in a tutorial format with downloadable samples anywhere...except what I found above(without audible samples)
I realise the article is more targeted toward time......but the strumming patterns are difficult to find and both go hand in hand.
Any advise would be appreciated.

Not yet but there's a series of articles in the works (first one should be up either this weekend or by the end of next week) that might help you out. And, yes, it will have audio examples.

You're right in that this is a subject that's not covered a lot in terms of tutorials. We're working on it, though.

Peace

(Check out the preview)

I purchased this DVD off Justin's site a few months ago, and I believe it should come with every first time guitar purchase...
Keith

I know a little bit about a lot of things, but not a lot about anything...
Looking for people to jam with in Sydney Oz.......

Hi Guys
Thanks for the replys.
I'll investigate both sources.
The Guitarrrghhh is such a challenge to me......others seem to make it look so easy.

I am determined not to be beat by it though....pardon the pun!!

MoreNoise: if there are a few specific patterns from that article you'd like to hear let me know and I'll record them for you.

Hi Dhodge
Is this the first part of the new series you were referring too?

Hey Morenoise!

This is the first part:

https://www.guitarnoise.com/lesson/getting-past-up-and-down-part-1/

It's new and, as it says in the text, basically covers things that you find in other Guitar Noise articles, only this time with MP3 sound files. In the next part, we'll cover more complex rhythms, like dotted notes and triplets. Part Three will be about how music notation, especially those "direct from the recordings" transcriptions automatically clue us in to the "up and down" of the stroke even though they may not write it out as such. And then we'll use that information in Part Four to figure out how to do it all by ear.

Thanks for being patient with me getting this stuff up online. And I hope it helps.

Peace

Here's another site that has samples of strumming patterns

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
