Im am sorry for all these questions about chords ( my band is trying to make our very first song)

But this question is about power chords. I tried to look them up, but what I found was all too confusing. So could someone give me a simple explanation on power chords. Also, I found a website (looknohands.com) where the power chords are labelled A5, E5, C5, etc. Can someone also explain that?

A normal triad (major, minor) chord consists of three notes, 1, 5 and either 3 or b3. So a C-major chord is C E G and C-minor is C Eb G. A C-powerchord is just the 1-5, without the third, co C5 is C G. Another example:
A-major = A C# E
A-minor = A C E
A5 = A E

So basically powerchords are neutral, neither major or minor. Which means you can always play an X5 chord whether you need an X-major or X-minor.

Well, I've had some requests, but I'm going to play anyway.
