Hey all,

Here's my situation. I play a strat, with a Marshall G10 amp. Usually I like to play with a lot of distortion...Gain all the way up, tone knob all the way down. This is no problem. Sometimes when I want it to really scream, I also plug in a distortion pedal. Very cool sound, but there's the "extra" noise to. Is there a good way to cut down on the noise, but keep the scream?

Thanks for any help.

BOS

Get rid of 50% of your gain. Get rid of the pedal. Add a compressor. Done.

Ok, compressor, huh... I've heard of them, never heard how they effect your tone.

Is there a "best" brand/model for under $100.00?

Nope. Boss makes a nice one, I use a Behringer one that costs $19,-, plenty of choices. The best one I heared so far was the vox one, but goes around $200.
