I need an advice on practicing the right hand, for strumming mainly.
I spent some time in my practice time working on chromatic exercises lately and found that I had some beneficial on the fretting hand dexterity, also when changing chords quickly.
I can also pick quite fast, but it seems that now I'm lacking on strumming techniques!
Do you have any suggestion on some excercise to develop the strumming hand?

Strumming is all about timing. Get a metronome or down load one from the web. Strum along with it, start with a simple up and down. It's a start, and a word of warning, developing a sense of timing can take months of practice.

mmm ok.
I think I'll practice the songs ALWAYS with the metronome for a while.
I recorded myself and discoverd that I'm not keeping the rythm steadily.
thank you for the help

Hi

first of all i'm italian too! If you wish wite me a pm and we could excange our experiences in mothre tongue. My advice is to learn a few patterns and to start praticing them playing alongside a cd: that will help you to develop a steady rhtythm.

If it helps you at all there are some basic strumming patterns and chord progressions on my web site (linked below) with sound clips. There were designed to get people started with the basic patterns that cover a lot of easy songs.
