I finally know how to play pennyroyal tea and about a girl but when i get to the "tea" or the "friend" my voice cracks horribly.Help!

Do it Morrissey style. Kurt had a weird range that nobody will ever imitate.
Or just do what he did and go into the woods and scream at the top of your lungs to thicken those vocal chords.
