I tried to go home last night and play the intro to Me and Julio.

After practicing this for about 5-10 min my thumb starting hurting like it was too weak to hold those notes to get a crisp sound. Is this cause of something I am doing wrong or just need more time to build muscle?

Really I have been playing off and on for years. I go through stages where I get frustrated and stop playing. I have been on the kick now for about a month.
Another reason for not much playing is time. A lot of my free time is spent working out and then spending time with my family. Now I have even less time cause I am trying to get my basement finished before the new addtion to our family arrives(this Saturday). I would LOVE to be able to play. I would almost sell my sole to be able to sit in front of a campfire and play while I sing. I don't want it for the money I LOVE music.
